The Mobile Home Markets

The Housing Market
Mobile HomeWhen building a house, or saving to buy one, a lot of people will consider the option of living in a mobile home due to the high cost of renting, because they can’t buy a home in their own area, or just to have a place of their own. If you have a site you should consider this option.

These days most mobile homes are at least 35 feet by 12 feet with 2 or 3 bedrooms. With a 2 bedroom you generally get a much larger main bedroom. Size-wise they are comparable to many apartments.

If you have a budget of less than €10,000 you will probably get a model with single glazing and a gas fire. In this situation it would be advisable to put in oil central heating, insulate the floor, and if possible insulate the roof as well since this will make a big difference to your comfort in the cold weather.

If you have a bigger budget you should opt for a model with central heating and double glazing. There is a bigger range of such mobile homes now, and as they are a bit older they are available at better prices. With a budget of €15-20,000 customers would have a large section of mobile homes to choose from, all in good condition. Buying in this price bracket means you will benefit from a more comfortable mobile home that will offer a better return on your investment when you sell it on.

The benefits of a mobile home versus renting a house are quite substantial. These days renting is very expensive. It would not take long to pay for a mobile with money saved on rent. Renting is really paying someone else’s mortgage, and once you have your mobile paid you will be able to save a lot of money. It is unlikely you will sell it for what you paid, but you can regard the loss as a reasonable rent, and you will certainly be pleased with the amount you save.

If you have an elderly relative coming to live with you a modern mobile home in your garden will give both of you privacy and space, but also the security of being near to each other. Central heating and double glazing is essential in this case. This will save you the costly option of adding a room or two to the house that you don’t really need, and it is also an instant solution as often these situations come out of a crisis.

The Business Market
business tableMobile homes are ideal temporary offices but you will need one with central heating and double glazing. We use one ourselves: it is a centre lounge mobile home with bedrooms at both ends that we converted to offices. The centre is the reception. Why not call down to have a look?

We have quite a few businesses who use mobile homes for temporary accommodation for workers on site.   We do a small bit of hire in this area also.   Ring us if you have a project in mind where you need extra accommodation.
